About Mudgeon Vean

![]()
We have four beautiful holiday cottages on our working farm near the Helford on the Lizard peninsula, Cornwall
As you approach Mudgeon Vean Farm down the gravel track, the emerald green fields roll down the side of the valley to meet the Sycamore and Ash trees swaying in the breeze.
In front of you, tucked away behind ancient Holme Oaks, is the 18th century rooftop of Mudgeon Vean Farmhouse.
Through the trees is the patchwork of seasonal agriculture, ancient woodland and hedges with a panorama which can be quiet and seductive or unpredictable and fierce.
Gold Award-winning - come and stay in one of our highly recommended self-catering holiday cottages. Our Valley View cottage is an enjoyEngland.com Gold Award winner!
You will be able to capture sunsets comparable to the Mediterranean, with dramatic skies and clouds that travel swiftly across the miles of countryside. Use the "book online" link ABOVE to see availability and book online.
We can offer cosy winter breaks with log fires or peaceful and relaxing summer holidays.
Wifi availibility - Due to unforeseen circumstances we are having some problems with our
cottages Wi Fi connection. We hope that it will be rectified very soon, but at present,
we cannot guarantee a full service. As soon as we have one we will post it on our website.
Our Farm
The Trewhella family farm has become the home of award winning
Helford Creek Apple Juice available all over Cornwall and the South West at places of interest such as the nearby National Trust gardens and houses, and exported to restaurants and outlets across the UK.
In the fields grow crops and dairy heifers graze. The farm is still home to many chickens, ducks, pigmy goats, five cats, two dogs, as well as numerous species of wildlife.
A Place to Play
We have an enclosed children’s play area with baby and child swings, climbing frame tunnel and slide. An area to play football, cricket and swingball. There is also an indoor playroom with table tennis and pool table - ideal for the older ones to hang out.
The children must be supervised by an adult at all times, even though it is a fairly safe environment, we cannot be responsible for roaming toddlers or teenagers!!
Our Woodland Walk
Our delightful private Woodland Walk allows you to really appreciate the
woods with an extensive collection of seasonal wild flowers, trees and wildlife. Bluebells, Wood Anemones and Celandines in the Spring, Foxgloves and Honeysuckle in the Summer, followed by the amazing array of Autumn colours showing our ancient woodland at its best, and when the Winter frosts coat the leaves with a beautiful frost.
Dogs Welcome by Arrangement
We may accept one well behaved dog to stay - but only if we have spoken and agreed this before you book. Please call or email us to discuss this before you make an online booking. We don't accept dogs under a year old, or large long haired dogs or in-season bitches.
